Hummel ![]()
Hummel figures are manufactured by Goebel and first introduced in 1946-1948 they where marked U.S. zone Germany, during the occupation. Sister Maria Innocentia was a Franciscan Nun, who's real name was Berta Hummel, hence the name Hummel. Hummel means; bumblebee in German and the "V" is the distribution company. Sister Innocentia took her vows in 1934 to the convent of Sicssen and died aged 37 in 1946 Her work today is highly collectable.
